A multi-channel network (MCN) is a company that works with a number of creators or channel owners and offers services in return for terms set out in a contract. The services differ by network and may include production support, audience development, rights administration, sales and brand partnerships, or help with admin.
An MCN is not a YouTube setting or a type of account. It is a business relationship between a creator and a company. What the network does, what it asks for and how long the arrangement lasts are all matters of agreement between the two parties, and they differ from deal to deal.
Joining a network does not by itself give a creator a special status with the platform, and it does not mean growth or earnings are assured. Tools for rights holders, such as Content ID, are available only to eligible rights holders and approved partners. See who can use content manager tools.
