A repeatable checklist for reviewing who has access to your channels and removing what is no longer needed.
Access builds up quietly. This checklist helps a team review it regularly. Depending on the permission features available to your account, check the official page in the YouTube Help Center for the roles and settings you can use.
Before you start
Choose the reviewer and a second person to confirm the result.
Open your access register (person, role, level, reason, date granted).
Pull the current list of people with access to each channel.
Compare and question
For every person on the list, ask:
Do they still work with us?
Do they still need this level of access, or would a lower level do?
Do they use their own account, with 2-Step Verification turned on?
Is the reason for access still recorded?
Is there a backup for any ownership-level role?
Check around the channel
Third-party apps and tools connected to the channel.
Shared folders, spreadsheets and editing project files.
Recovery email and phone details owned by people who are still on the team.
Any shared mailbox or role address, and who can read it.

5ScheduleSet the next review
Remove access that is no longer needed.
Reduce access that is higher than the job requires.
Record each change in the change log: date, person, what changed, why.
Tell the affected person if it is their access that changed.
Set the next review date.
After the review
The register matches reality.
An off-boarding checklist exists and is used on every departure.
Anyone with unusual access has a written reason.
How often?
Review on a schedule your team can keep, and also whenever someone joins, leaves or changes role. Frequency is a team decision; consistency matters more than the exact interval.
